On December 12, 2023, Kamal Adwan Hospital, the sole remaining functional hospital in northern Gaza, was besieged, bombarded, and suffered extensive structural damage. The hospital’s inner courtyard was bulldozed, allegedly leaving dozens of patients trapped or buried under rubble, and its medical staff, including director Ahmed Kahlot, were stripped and detained.
