In partnership with Trane Technologies, the building’s outdated absorption chillers were replaced with two 500-ton water-cooled, energy‐efficient electric chillers using low-GWP refrigerant and upgraded controls. This upgrade is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions by 642 metric tons, eliminate the use of natural gas, generate significant energy cost savings, and ensure compliance with New York City’s Local Law 97.
