Williams & Connolly represented HRDC in a lawsuit against Virginia Regional Jail, where the court ruled in favor of HRDC by finding that the jail authority had violated inmates' First Amendment rights by censoring educational materials. The ruling, issued on August 24, 2020, awarded significant attorney fees and underscored the defense of prisoner rights and free speech.
