Wildlife Conservation Society Canada (WCS Canada) is engaged in a conservation partnership with Moose Cree First Nation to study and protect the declining lake sturgeon population in Ontario, incorporating indigenous perspectives and promoting sustainable ecological practices.

As an implementing partner in U.S.-funded conservation initiatives, WCS Canada participated in investigations into allegations of human rights abuses by park rangers and helped develop grievance mechanisms to ensure accountability and protect vulnerable communities.

US authorities stopped over $12 million in federal funding to major conservation organizations, including Wildlife Conservation Society, following an investigation that linked federal conservation funds to severe human rights abuses by anti‐poaching guards. The organization failed to publicly respond to or address these allegations.
