Matahi o te Tau Marae was awarded a $41,400 grant from the Cyclone Gabrielle Appeal Fund to install a solar power system, an initiative that enhances community resilience and supports sustainable, culturally anchored services for marginalized local communities.

Matahi o te Tau Marae is set to upgrade its reticulation system to provide safe drinking water to local households, the local kura, and the marae, as part of a climate resilience pilot project announced by government officials.

Matahi o te Tau Marae, a community-focused marae, benefits from Te Puni Kōkiri's $9 million Cyclone Gabrielle Māori Communities Response Fund.
