On January 18, 2025, the Telangana Junior Doctors Association met with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha to address prolonged delays in stipend payments for junior doctors, highlighting issues of financial instability and the need for fair labor practices.

Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) concluded a two-day strike after successful negotiations with the state government, which agreed to most of the doctors’ demands including the allotment of Rs 204.85 crore for infrastructure improvements and funding for stipends. The resolution included pending dues clearance, amendments in employment terms, and the initiation of a special protection force to safeguard medical professionals.

On April 8, 2024, the Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association met with the state’s Director of Medical Education to address concerns of resident doctors, including pending stipends, security issues at government hospitals, and inadequate hostel facilities. The association also pressed for the implementation of a promised Green Channel for regularizing stipends, following previous strikes and engagements with government officials.

The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) along with the Telangana Senior Residents Association announced plans to strike and boycott elective OP duties at government hospitals starting December 19, 2023, over delayed stipend payments. The associations have sent letters to the director of medical education demanding regularization of stipends and the appointment of a responsible person in the finance department to ensure timely releases.

On May 27, 2023, the Telangana government issued an order increasing the stipend for medical postgraduates by 15%, following threats of a strike by members of the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA).
