GreenPod Labs, based in Chennai, is participating in a Walmart pilot program testing plant-based sachets that delay ripening of fruits and vegetables. This technology aims to reduce food waste, extend shelf life, and enhance supply chain resilience in Walmart’s U.S. operations.

GreenPod Labs secured a $50,000 Post-Harvest Loss Innovation Prize at an innovation gathering during New York Climate Week. The award, presented by Factor E Ventures in collaboration with Shell Foundation and the UK’s FCDO, recognizes the company’s ambient active packaging technology designed to extend the shelf life of produce, supporting smallholder farmers in emerging markets and reducing food waste.

GreenPod Labs, an India-based agricultural biotechnology startup, was awarded the 2022 Ray of Hope Prize by the Biomimicry Institute for its nature-inspired solution that reduces food loss and supports farmer livelihoods.
