This action reinforces established legal procedures and the government’s commitment to safeguarding children.

The Ernakulam District Child Protection Unit's operations have ground to a halt as all 16 contract staff have gone on an indefinite strike, protesting an arbitrary salary halving imposed by the Women and Child Development Department. The protest, organized under the aegis of the CITU-affiliated Kerala ICPS Employees Union, demands restoration of original salaries, multi-year contract renewals, and improved work conditions.
