The Allergy & Asthma Network, along with nearly 200 organizations, sent a letter to the Biden Administration and Congressional leadership urging them to prioritize values-based healthcare and address systemic inequities, including affordable healthcare access and curbing pharmaceutical abuses.

Allergy & Asthma Network is actively working at the federal, state, and local levels to ensure that the patient’s voice is heard in legislative and policy issues. The organization advocates for equal access to high‐quality and affordable care, highlighting initiatives like support for H.R. 7647 during the COVID-19 crisis to cap medication costs and remove barriers to treatment.

On May 8, 2024, advocates from Allergy & Asthma Network visited Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress, advocating for five legislative bills aimed at improving access to asthma and allergy care, with a focus on supporting under-resourced and low-income communities.

On May 3, 2023, Allergy & Asthma Network hosted its 26th annual Allergy & Asthma Day Capitol Hill event, mobilizing over 100 in-person advocates and engaging 1,500 participants online through a one‑click advocacy platform. Delegates met with representatives in more than 90 Congressional offices, promoting legislative actions such as the Safe Step Act and other initiatives aimed at improving access to affordable, patient-centered healthcare and reducing health disparities.

Allergy & Asthma Network launched a campaign urging citizens to engage with federal leaders to support new or improved laws and funding for health programs that benefit individuals with allergies and asthma, reinforcing democratic engagement and progressive policy change.

During an advocacy event on Capitol Hill, Allergy & Asthma Network organized meetings between patient advocates and members of Congress to discuss legislative and regulatory issues relevant to individuals with asthma and allergies. The event included a Congressional Lunch Briefing where policymakers addressed health concerns.
